New collection at The MeriTomasa's Treasures Factory: pendant, keychain and lapel needle of the Rod of Asclepius, the international symbol of medicine: a snake coiled on a rod, designed and modeled in my workshop in Manresa, with artisan manufacture in sterling silver with blacked out recesses.

The design is based on the contrast between polished silver and darkened silver. On the one hand, the cane, with a tree bark texture, with a darkened finish in the recesses and polished in the upper part. On the other hand, coiled on the rod, the snake, a species that periodically sheds its skin and precisely for that reason it is a symbol of rejuvenation in many ancient cultures, with a polished finish to increase contrast and the effect of three dimensions.

It is my new collection, but I have been modeling it for years in my workshop. There have been many orders for personalized treasures with the motif of the Rod of Aesculapius and in the end I have decided to make a small series. The advantage: that way I can offer it to you at more competitive prices and in faster delivery times. And you can still boast of wearing a jewel with exclusive design and artisan manufacture, zero kilometer, in my jewelry workshop at La Fábrica de Tesoros de MeriTomasa in Manresa.

It was hard for me to decide on the name: rod or cane? or maybe staff? Aesculapius, the Roman name, or Asclepius, the Greek? I have been asked about this same treasure many times and with a thousand and one different formulas: Rod of Asclepius, Rod of Aesculapius, Staff of Asclepius, Staff of Aesculapius, asklepian... It's the same! A snake coiled on a good wooden staff, the symbol of Medicine :)
