The #fashionrevolutionweek has coincided this year with the outbreak of covid-19 and I believe that it is more important than ever to draw conclusions and do a bit to raise awareness that transparency in the fashion industry is vital. It is urgent that we change our habits and undertake a more ethical and sustainable consumption.
As we must lead by example, and every journey begins with a first step, or two, from MeriTomasa I want to explain a couple of initiatives that I am going to launch in my Treasures Factory:
- The first (and of which I am very proud) is that for a few weeks I have been a licensee brand #Fairmined (Alliance for Responsible Mining). That means I add fairmined precious metal as a raw material to my treasures. Fair trade metal that guarantees more respectful practices with the environment and better working conditions for miners and miners.
- And the second is that for the last year I have been doing a study of suppliers. Leaving the big ones and staying with the little ones, those of a lifetime, those of the highest quality, those who are happy for me to buy them and I to buy from them.
This post is just a snack. I'll explain very soon one thing and the other in this blog.
I invite you to visit www.fashionrevolution.org, where you can learn about the bases of this movement and they explain different actions to put your grain of sand in #fashionrevolutionweek and other sustainable consumption tricks to practice during the rest of the year.
