I am fortunate to receive orders for Atlantis rings from many countries in the world, from Chile to Japan, from Australia to the USA or Mexico, from Peru to Sweden, from France to Singapore, and of course many also from Spain and Catalonia, which are closer to me, and every now and then I realize that things are not always called the same here and there. For example, more than once you have asked me what is the difference between the Atlantis ring and other rings, such as the "Luxor ring", the "Egyptian ring", the "Howard Carter ring" or the "Atlantean Ring".
And the difference is... None at all! They are different ways of calling the same ring, the Atlantis Ring is the same as the Luxor ring, or the Egyptian ring, or the Howard Carter ring or the Atlantean Ring. Just change the name :-)
Below I explain the reason for each of these names:
- Why is it called the Luxor ring? The Atlantean ring is based on sacred geometry and on the Phi number and one of its most characteristic elements is the "Luxor shaped wave", in the north of the ring: three triangular sections (in the most classic design, gold, silver and copper), with a hole in its center, and that give way to six pyramids, and these to two isosceles triangles whose vertex marks the position of the lateral holes.
- "Shape waves" are the energy or vibration that things emit from their shape: for example, pyramids or triangles emit positive energy, while irregular and uncompensated geometric shapes emit harmful waves. It is studied by dowsing and it also has applications in Feng Shui. In the end, it is very simple: if we surround ourselves with drawings or shapes that disturb us, they will produce negative energy. On the other hand, if we surround ourselves with shapes that are beautiful and harmonious, they will generate a positive energy that will help us on a day-to-day basis.
- Luxor is the Egyptian city built on Thebes, the capital of the New Kingdom of Egypt. They are called "Luxor-shaped waves" because of the intimate relationship between the Atlantean ring and ancient Egypt.
- Why is it called an Egyptian ring? Sure there are many typical rings of Egypt, but the Atlantis ring is also called, in a generic way, "Egyptian ring" because the legend says that the original ring was given by the Atlantean civilization to the Egyptian civilization, and that is why It was found in an Egyptian tomb. There are different versions here. According to some, its discovery corresponds to the Marquis d'Agrain, a French Egyptologist, in 1860, in the Valley of the Kings, and later it became the property of the French dowser André de Bélizal, who together with his family popularized and commercialized it. But the most popular version of his find is the one starring English explorer and archaeologist Howard Carter.
- Why is it called the Howard Carter ring? It is so named because the most popular version of the story is that Howard Carter found the Atlantis ring in one of the tombs in the Valley of the Kings, early in his career. It was the tomb of a priest named Jua, where the bodies of the priest and his wife had been found in perfect condition. The legend says that Carter never separated from the ring and that is why he managed to evade the curse of the pharaoh Tutankhamun: "Death will come on light wings on whoever interferes with the peace of the Pharaoh", which instead mysteriously ended the life of a good part of the expedition that accompanied Carter in the desecration of the tomb of the young Tutankhamun.
- And why is it called the Atlantean Ring? Well... "Atlantis" and "Atlantean" are very similar: just a different way to say the same thing :)
Atlantis Rings Collection by MeriTomasa
The main difference of my Atlantis Rings with respect to the serial productions that you can find on other websites is the quality and craftsmanship. I only work with noble metals (18K gold, sterling silver, and electrolytic copper). And I make each piece by hand. The result is a unique, quality ring. Stronger and more durable.
The Atlantis rings from The MeriTomasa's Treasures Factory share a same design, based on the golden ratio. The only thing that changes is the precious metal or metals with which I model each ring. This change is not trivial: it implies substantial differences in price since a gram of gold is much more expensive than a gram of silver. It also implies substantial differences depending on what you want to use your ring for.
