MeriTomasa joins the #imadeyourclothes campaign created by the Fashion Revolution movement. The objective: to invite us to be more aware of where what we consume comes from, and to take a step forward to implement a radical change.
Fashion Revolution is the revolution of the fashion makers. We are designers, producers, manufacturers, workers and consumers. We are academics, writers, business leaders, brands, small businesses, unions, and policy makers. We are the industry and the public. We are citizens of the world. We are a movement and a community. We are you.
We love fashion. But we don't want to exploit people or destroy the planet. We demand a radical and revolutionary change. Here you will find the full manifest...
At The MeriTomasa's Treasures Factory I am a jewelry designer and manufacturer. But having a small online jewelry store (and soon I hope it will also have a physical store :) is much more than designing and modeling my own jewelry. I take photos of my treasures and upload them to my website, I create the contents of my website and publish them on the networks, I am a marketer in Google and a fair in craft markets, I am the center of attention to my clients online and face to face , I carry the taxation of my business, I take care of the entire production chain from the purchase of raw materials to packaging, supplier management and maintenance of my workshop... and surely I forget many things. I join Fashion Revolution to highlight all the work of so many small artisans like me.
I compete with serial jewelry and costume jewelery made many kilometers from here and in conditions that are not always what they should be. That's not my model. My business model is #fash_rev. At The MeriTomasa's Treasures Factory I only work with noble metals (sterling silver and 18K gold ...) and I make each piece in an artisanal and personalized way: sizes, thicknesses, design and finishes. All my suppliers are also kilometer zero, like me. I offer unique and quality treasures, and with custom designs.
And I do everything with all my love, because jewelry is my trade.
#fashionrevolutionweek and #whomademyclothes means just this. Slow jewellery: buy less, buy higher quality and added value, buy at more ethical prices. For a decent job, from conception to creation, to create products that make us all live better and grow. For a jewelry that builds a better world.
Absolutely inspiring! Your commitment to ethical craftsmanship and the Fashion Revolution movement is truly commendable. It's incredible how you've woven love, dedication, and conscientiousness into every aspect of your jewelry-making process. Your dedication to slow jewelry is a reminder to all of us to choose quality over quantity and support ethical practices in fashion. Thank you for being a beacon of change and empowering us to make more mindful choices. Keep shining with your beautiful creations and impactful approach!
