Who is Saint Michael the Archangel in Christianity, Judaism and Islam?

"The Archangel Michael Defeating the Fallen Angels", by Luca Giordano, 1660.

In Christianity, the Archangel Michael is the leader of the heavenly armies and protector against the dark forces. In the Bible, in the book of Revelation, it is narrated how he defeated Lucifer or Satan in the heavenly fight and that is why he is considered the defender of the faith and the protector of the faithful. He is depicted as a symbol of courage, justice, and spiritual purity. In art he is depicted as an angel in the armor of a Roman general, threatening a demon or dragon with a spear or sword. In other works he is depicted weighing souls on a scale, on Judgment Day.

The book of Revelation narrates how Saint Michael, commander-in-chief of the heavenly armies and protector against the dark forces, defeated the fallen angels ruled by Lucifer in the fight heavenly and that is why he is considered the defender of the faith and the protector of the faithful.

In Judaism, Saint Michael the Archangel is the protector of the people of Israel during their march through the desert and Moses' interlocutor on Mount Sinai. He is also one of the three angels, along with Gabriel and Raphael, who announce the birth of Isaac. Judaism today invokes Michael as protector of its synagogues. In the Yom Kippur liturgy the sermon concludes with the words: "Michael, prince of mercy, pray for Israel", and in the Talmud he appears as High Priest in relation to the rest of the angels.

In Islam, Michael is known as Mika'il and is considered one of the most important archangels. Mika'il is responsible for distributing God's provision and mercy on Earth. He is also associated with sustaining and supervising divine creation.

In all three religions, the Archangel Saint Michael or Mika'il is considered a celestial being with a prominent role in protecting and guiding human beings, as well as in the fight against the forces of evil. His figure embodies virtues such as courage, justice and spiritual purity.

How was the battle in heaven between the heavenly armies led by Saint Michael the Archangel and the fallen angels ruled by Satan?

Saint Michael the Archangel on the shield of Kiev, the capital of UkraineArchangel Saint Michael on the shield of Kiev, the capital of Ukraine, in purple armor and cloak, armed with a golden sword and a silver shield decorated with a cross.

The passage Revelation 12:7-9 of the Bible narrates a cosmic and spiritual event that represents the fight between the forces of good and evil in heaven:

7 Then a war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought the dragon; and the dragon and his angels, in turn, faced them, 8 but they could not win and there was no longer a place for them in heaven. 9 Thus the great dragon was expelled, that ancient serpent called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world. Together with his angels, he was thrown to earth.

"Michael and his angels fought the dragon, and the dragon and his angels faced them, but they could not win and there was no place for them anymore in the sky".

This passage describes the heavenly battle between Archangel Michael and his armies of angels against the dragon, representing Satan or the devil, and his rebellious followers, the fallen angels. The fight symbolizes the conflict between the forces of good and evil on the spiritual plane. Michael and his angels prevail in battle, and the dragon is hurled from heaven to earth, along with his fallen angels. In this way, the heavenly armies win against the fallen angels, led by Satan.

The narrative reflects the idea of divine victory over evil forces and the fall of Satan and his followers. This passage has been interpreted as a reminder of the supremacy of God and the final defeat of evil in the divine plan.

In mythology, this is called a "mytheme". That is, a cultural pattern to compare the fundamental myths of different cultures. Thus, this Judeo-Christian mytheme of the struggle between good and evil, between God and Satan, has clear parallels with other mythemes from other cultures. For example, with the myth of Yin and Yang, which represents duality and the balance of opposing forces in the universe in Hindu culture.

Gustavo is entirely to blame for this collection...

The archangel Michael trampling the devil, by Simon Ushakov, 1676. Tretyakov Gallery, Moscow, Russia.Detail of "The Archangel Michael Trampling the Devil", by Simon Ushakov, 1676. Tretyakov Gallery, Moscow, Russia..

Someone is always to blame. And this time it's from Gustavo, from Memphis, Tennessee... Gustavo bought me an Atlantean Ring, then a Tetragrammaton, then a ring with the seal of the 7 archangels and then a bracelet with the seal of Saint Michael the Archangel, and along the way a personalized keychain. Words are superfluous with purchase histories like this, but Gustavo also gave me one of my favorite recommendations on Google Business, which reads like this:

Gustavo Ortega (Memphis TN, US)

Very happy I ordered it

I dedicated myself to looking for information about the Atlantis ring. I found it very interesting and especially the commentary of many experts in the field of energy forces, esotericism and history about valuable treasures for their protective energy with objects found in the pyramids of Egypt. Then looking to buy it. During this time I realized that it was best to have it done. Of all the ones I was reviewing, only one had everything I was looking for. THE MERITOMASA'S TREASURES HOUSE. I felt that my intuition led me there. The way of working with dedication, care and, above all, follow-up so that the client is sure of what he has bought and why. As a person, the owner of MeriTomasa, a beautiful person who answered all my questions and doubts with such clarity that I immediately ordered it. The shipment was fantastic and it arrived before the stipulated time. I can only tell you that what I felt when I put it on was extraordinary, as well as facts that I can attest to its veracity of its properties. Beautiful, the high-precision finish I loved. I am very happy that I ordered it through the MERITOMASA'S TREASURES FACTORY. Thank you.

With recommendations like this, who needs business cards? The best thing that these first six years at The MeriTomasa's Treasures Factory have brought me has been meeting clients like Gustavo, and many, many others, who with their gratitude have only increased the karma that I owe to the universe and that makes me get up every morning with the intention of paying that debt... and, like a good artisan, to increase it :-)

MeriTomasa: hand-made jewelryMyself, in my artisan jewelry workshop at The MeriTomasa's Treasures Factory.

I am neither a magician nor a priestess. I am not a specialist in the Jewish religion or in the Christian religion. Neither in the Bible nor in the Torah. Neither in mysticism nor in Kabbalah. Nor am I a specialist in esotericism, magic or the occult. I'm a jeweler. That's why I rarely talk about the benefits and uses of the Sigil of Archangel Michael on my website. My mission is not to explain to you how and when and why of these treasures that unite religion and worldview, nor do I want to convince you to use them as an amulet or talisman. If you have reached this page, perhaps you know more about the subject than I do, and according to my experience, each client expects a different use or benefit from my treasures.

As a jeweler, my mission is to offer you top quality treasures both in relation to the metal that makes them up and in relation to the design, modeling and finishing process. That is why I adhere to campaigns such as Fashion Revolution or I presume to be accredited with the craft product badge (D’A).

My mission as a jeweler is to offer you treasures such as Sigil of Archangel Michael in the form of top quality jewels, both in relation to the precious metals that make them up and in relation to the design, modeling and finishing process. And also, do it from craftsmanship and humility. I do not manufacture in series in distant countries and I do not sell wholesale: I offer you handmade jewelry with international shipments and at fair prices.

On the other hand, it is true that I am very interested in the subject of personal growth and I have taken courses on channeling positive energies, so that both from the point of view of a jeweler and from the point of view of personal growth, I have been designing and modeling for years treasures of sacred and esoteric jewelry, and I have made an effort to document its design and optimal manufacturing process. One of my best-selling treasures is the Atlantis Ring. Some of my clients have also asked me about the Tetragrammaton or the Metatron or the Seal of the 7 Archangels or Sigil of Archangel Michael for a long time, and finally, after much work on it, I have decided to offer it to you with an exclusive design faithful to the original sacred design.

In addition, now I have a quality certificate that makes me very happy: my first six years at The MeriTomasa's Treasures Factory, the result of the trust of many clients like you. Thank you everyone!

Many of the pieces that you will find on my website could be included as sacred jewelry or esoteric jewelry. It was not my first intention when I opened The MeriTomasa's Treasures Factory. But I have the feeling that some of those treasures, such as the Atlantis Ring or the Chakana Collection, and Tetragrammaton and Metatron and now Seal of the 7 Archangels or Sigil of Archangel Michael, have come to me to offer me paths to grow, and I have walked those paths with all humility and giving thanks for every little challenge that the twists and turns of the road have offered me.

Like all my pieces, my Sigil of Archangel Michael Collection is designed and modeled in my workshop in Manresa (Barcelona), from personalized jewelery orders since 2006, so that you can boast of wearing a zero kilometer jewel of artisan manufacture.
